Project log - week 2
Throughout this week I have been learning about social realist codes and conventions in relation to audiences. I feel that I have learnt an awful lot which will help me immensly in how and what I am going to decide to use in my very own British social realist opening sequence/film. We learnt about many conventions such as 'comany logo', 'cast and crew' and 'title card'. Many films usually stick to one type of theme to use in their film, but sometimes more than one film can be just as successful. I feel that I am going to use a few different conventions in my final piece hoping to have the audience drawn in to my film making them want to watch more, I also want them to try and work out what the rest of my film is going to be about MAKING them want to see more. I found 'Fish Tank' and 'Kidulthood' particularly influencing as they really do conform to the term 'British social realism'. I feel that they both stick with some of the same themes however they are both different. I really liked both of these films as i feel they portray social realism really good and they both seem like they are aimed at a young type of audience which I hopefully will achieve later on too.
